Do you not see it? I am doing a NEW thing...Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Inspired by Isaiah 43:19 and Romans 12:2

Training with a purpose

Life after collegiate athletics hit me hard.

As someone who’s always been a high performer, I thought I was prepared for the grind — but life in the newsroom and the subsequent corporate world was a different kind of arena than my spirit was used to. The rules were unspoken, the pace relentless, and the expectations unending. And navigating that space as a young Black woman in America trying to find her purpose? That’s a whole other game.

I stumbled so much.

I stretched farther than I ever knew I could.

I lifted heavier.

I prayed deeper.

There were seasons when my faith was shaken and I felt burnt out, overlooked, and under-resourced in so many ways. But even in the chaos, I kept returning to what anchored me, seeking my purpose within God through the things that anchored me - prayer, meditation (over time) yoga, running, lifting... I began to realize these things were acts of survival. Sacred actions that kept my body strong. My mind clear. My spirit lifted.

This practice — this devotion to wellness — became a quiet worship in my life.

Because the truth is: wellness isn't a luxury. It's a lifeline. Especially for Black and Brown women. Especially when it comes to maternal health, mental clarity, and generational healing. When we care for ourselves — fully, intentionally, unapologetically — we change our outcomes. We break cycles. We breathe deeper and see ourselves differently. We change our lives and the lives of those around us.

I created Grateful Core to be the space I once needed:

A place where high-performing women can take off the armor.

Where movement is prayer.

Where strength is both physical and spiritual.

Where rest is righteous.

Where God’s plan is bigger and better than our own.

And where we remember that we are already enough — just as we are.

I want to be the vessel God called me to be — not just in my own life, but in yours. My mission is to guide Black and Brown women back to their most confident, embodied, and God-aligned selves — so they can live freely, love deeply, and become everything they were divinely designed to be.
